Stoke Fleming to Slapton Sands | 4 Miles
Follow the road down to Blackpool Sands, stopping to admire the stunning view across Start Bay as you go. Stop at the beach, grab a bite to eat, take a dip or simply enjoy. Head up the hill on the coast path to the lane and follow it until you meet the main road. Walk into Strete village and admire the old cottages along the narrow road. Rejoin the path off the road until you reach the beginning of the beach at Strete Gate. Stop here for a coffee and a snack at the hut or continue down to Torcross along the beach. To return, either head back the way you came or hop on the bus back to the village.
Stoke Fleming to Startpoint | 10 Miles
This is a longer version of the walk above and a combination of a few coastal trails. Once at Torcross, stop for refreshments or continue straight up the steps and follow the path until you reach Beesands, Hallsands and up to Start Point. The beaches along this stretch of the path are a lot quieter, so make sure you take some time to stop and enjoy them. There are also some delicious restaurants in Beesands if you fancy indulging. Enjoy fresh fish, cooked to order, from the beach it is landed on. Once at Start Point, stop and take in the view across the Bay and to see how far you have come. It is really quite the vista. And head down to the lighthouse. Do a tour and learn about the history of the point. From here, either walk back the way you came, or head back to Torcross and hop on the bus back to the village.
