This five-day event happens each Autumn in the English Riviera. Walk in Agatha Christie’s footsteps on the walking tour and learn about her life. Watch performances from crime-writing groups. Brixham Pirate Festival
This festival started in 2007 by a group of locals to simply ‘liven up a quiet bank holiday’. It has since grown into a something that attracts people from all over. With live displays and historic sailing ships docked in the port, there are lots of activities for all ages to get involved in. The festival hosts live music all weekend, showing of the best of local bands. Come dressed as a pirate and bring your best arghhh!!
England’s Seafood Feast
Immerse yourself in some of the best seafood in the world at this multi-day festival. Don’t be expecting a conventional festival with a big marquee. Instead enjoy a range of locally caught and landed fish and seafood at thirty eateries across Brixham, Paignton and Torquay. English Riviera Show
Torbay’s natural amphitheatre provides a unique and stunning location for this annual event. With air displays happening throughout the four-day show; sit back, relax, and enjoy. Stroll through the local trading stalls offering everything from artwork to books and toys. Indulge in some tasty food and a pint from the bar. Take a ride at the fairground or explore the multitude of family activities.
English Riviera Walking Festival
The English Riviera holds two annual walking festivals in Spring and Autumn. Whether you’re a regular hiker or infrequent stroller, this dog-friendly festival is for walkers of all abilities who enjoy an adventure in the great outdoors. The walking festival offers over twenty coastal walks led by experienced guides who will take you on a unique journey along one of England’s most scenic coastlines. The walks embrace local history, culture, and wildlife, with ones for all fitness levels. You can choose from a short half-mile stroll underground in one of Europe’s top prehistoric caves, to a twelve-mile hike from Torquay to Brixham along the coast path. Lanterns, Lights and Luminations
Brixham celebrates its Christmas lights switch on with a ‘Lanterns, Lights and ‘Luminations’ parade each year. Take part in lantern building workshops pre the event and participate in the magical lantern parade. Watch the incredible firework display held in the harbour. There is something special about fireworks over water. Wander through the market stalls and enjoy the live music. Torbay Steam Fair
This event hosts three days of attractions for the whole family. It has grown into the biggest steam fair in the area, expanding to include vintage cars, stationary engines and military vehicles. The fair provides market stalls, children’s entertainment, and refreshments. They pride themselves in bringing a new steam engine to the fair every year! For those steam enthusiasts, continue the weekend by riding on the Dartmouth Steam Railway.
