The Slapton Ley National Nature Reserve is the largest freshwater lake in the South West and is packed with plenty of rare plants and wildlife. The Ley offers beautiful circular walks and is a hotspot for keen birdwatchers and nature lovers. 

Discover the importance of the local history from our Slapton and Torcross holiday cottages. Slapton’s local church dates to the 14th century, with the village always having been a small coastal village. Slapton Sands also has its own unique history. It was the scene of an ill-fated military exercise in 1944. A Sherman tank recovered from where it sank during this action now stands in Torcross as a memorial for those lost.
